08/16/2002 Entry: "Family Black Sheep"

oops...am the bad aunt... am now offically black sheep of family... 15-year-old step-niece was just visiting NYC from Mississippi....she was very excited to spend the evening with me, her rock-star-in-training aunt... I decided to take her to a rock concert of course (she had spent most of her time in nyc shopping for halter tops and hair scrungees), and as I could find no suitable all-ages show in NYC I decided on a Kitty Power concert at some remote converted Polish Veterans Hall venue somewhere in New Jersey...well,.other than the fact we got lost, hitchhiked, snuck into the sold out show, drowned our share of cosmopolitans and discovered some girl who od’d on heroin in the bathroom, generally it was quite the fun evening and made for excellent dinner conversation....unfortunately, evil aunt bari is now no longer permitted to be alone with said step-niece and said step-niece is no longer able to visit nyc...oops...
